For something to be Libelous you
(not me) have to prove that I wrote something with the “intent”
to defame someone’s reputation. The federal law states that
I am not libelous unless the plaintiff
can prove that the statement was
made with “actual malice”
– that is, with knowledge that it
was false or with reckless disregard of whether it was false or
not. In addition, federal court has consistently held the
position that the First Amendment requires that the plaintiff prove
actual malice with “convincing clarity”.
Can you do that?
All I have to show legally is that
the statements in my article are consistent with my source. The
sources for all of my diatribes are documented in our database.
