Knut is better off dead than in a zoo?

Definitions get old too I guess.
What’s good today could be turned tomorrow.
It seemed like it was just the day before yesterday when an Animal Rights Activist were people that advocated animals get equal, if not preferential treatment over human beings.
Well today that definition of animal activist has changed forever.
Animal Rights Activists are actually advocating that the Berlin Zoo kill a polar bear that humans rescued from starving to death in the wild because they say it would be better off dead than raised by humans.
Evidently seeing pictures of this bear all over the internet drinking from his bottle, bathing and playing with teddy bears and soccer balls just pissed them the @#$% off.
The cub, which has been affectionately named Knut or Cute Knut is a 19-pound polar bear that was rejected by his mother.
Actually the polar bear mother left Knut and his brother to die. Knut’s brother did end up dying, which Knut surely would’ve done too had it not been rescued by the bad people at the zoo.
"Feeding by hand is not species-appropriate but a gross violation of animal protection laws," animal rights activist Frank Albrecht was quoted as saying by the mass-circulation Bild daily, "The zoo must kill the bear."
Huh? Hold up.
I can totally understand killing the polar bear if it was loose and running amuck, polar bears are one of, if not the most ornery creatures on God’s green earth, but the damn thing is in a zoo.
That is what a zoo is supposed to be for. Zoos are a safe place where you and the family can spend an afternoon enjoying wild life the way God intended, behind a man-made moat, electrified fence and 6 inch thick glass.
"If a polar bear mother rejected the baby, then I believe the zoo must follow the instincts of nature," Albrecht said. "In the wild, it would have been left to die."
And this guy is on their side, right?
How is Knut better off dead than living where all he has to do is eat, sleep, defecate, stand on its hind legs and roar every once in a while for the rest of its natural life?
If it isn’t going to be happy unless it is beating the life out of a seal or something I can understand that, and I am also sure these new and improved Animal Rights Activist would have no problem opening the doors to Knut’s cage and providing a live seal or two for Knut to beat into jelly.
"They cannot domesticate a wild animal," Ruediger Schmiedel, head of the Foundation for Bears, told Der Spiegel. Schmiedel then went on to say that the Leipzig city zoo killed a baby sloth bear by lethal injection rather than being kept alive by human beings.
They say that being raised by humans this polar bear wouldn’t be able to naturally interact with other polar bears.
So? Knut is in a zoo. Why would he need to interact with any other polar bears?
Besides, nobody is trying to domesticate this thing.
Knut might be 19 pounds today, but in about 2 weeks he is going to be 200 pounds, and 4 weeks after that, it’ll be 900 pounds and Knut will spend most of his waking life daydreaming about killing everything that comes across his line of sight because that is what polar bears do.
As far as I know there aren’t any plans by zoo officials to try to train Knut to give kids piggy back rides at birthday parties and bar mitzvahs. Now that would be unnatural.
As far as I know that isn’t happening so everything is copasetic.
Get a grip. Besides, isn’t he sooooooo cute?

China doesn’t give a damn about human rights. Its kinda hard to make a case to them about treating animals with the same respect that they treat human beings because they would argue that “we already do.”

I know what your thinking, PCP. That bear must’ve been on PCP.
You keep believing that.
