Members of six Islamic groups, totaling 68 members of Pakistan’s parliament are threatening to walk out if the government votes to change a 1979 law that says for a man to be prosecuted for raping a woman there has to be at least four witnesses of the act to testify.
A part of me feels as if 68 ass backward Muslims threatening to walk out because they feel that Gen. Pervez Musharraf is caving into international pressure to civilize their law books shouldn’t even be news.
But I really feel for the guy because all Gen. Pervez Musharraf is really trying to do is make certain things in his country less embarrassing.
Pakistan is the home of 46 million illiterates.
That's embarrasing.
They are 46 million illiterate Muslims in Pakistan that have to take someone else’s word for what the Koran actually says about everything.
And you wonder why next to Saudi Arabia, Pakistan is the world’s leading exporter of terrorist and Islamic fundamentalist.
Remember it was Musharraf who said that "Today we are the poorest, the most illiterate, the most backward, the most unhealthy, the most un-enlightened, the most deprived, and the weakest of all the human race," he told the delegates to a conference of science and technology attended by ministers from Muslim countries back in 2002.
He is under no illusions about what he is working with.
As the law currently stands, prosecuting someone for rape in Pakistan is virtually impossible unless you either film it or make a public spectacle of it.
Human rights organizations have criticized the law as barbaric, as well they should.
How come there isn’t a four witness rule for murder? How about a four witness rule for saying blasphemous remarks about Allah?
Its because they don’t value women. It’s plain and simple. They think they do. But they don’t value women anymore than they value a cow or a mule that helps them sow their fields.
They are very value in the sense that without the mule they wouldn’t be able to grow crops or without the cow they wouldn’t be able to have milk, but that is functional. Women have value because they produce children, like the cow produces milk and the mule pulls the plow.
But no one provides anything for that cow that is above what is required for it to be able to perform its function.
You don’t see people bringing their cows into air conditioned facilities to beat the heat.
What really pisses me off is that although you need four witnesses to prosecute a rape, if a woman accuses a man of raping her and she can’t prove her case then she can be convicted of adultery which is punishable by death.
See what I mean?
Islam isn’t fucked up. The people who follow Islam that make up these ass backwards laws is are fucked up.
Their reasoning is fucked up. Their value system is fucked up. They are like a throw back to 1500 years ago when morality on this planet was about as moral as the insect world.
And you can’t even use a “how would you like it if the shoe was on the other foot” argument with people like these.
They admit that it would probably suck to be a woman.
But they think that’s ok that it sucks to be a woman because its supposed to suck to be a woman.
They also wouldn’t want to live in barn like a farm animal, but a barn is exactly where beasts of burden belong whether it sucks or not and this is how women ought to be treated.
Racist in the south back in the 1950s during the civil rights movement would say the same thing, sure it would suck to be black, but that is all that they deserve, since I am white I deserve better than they get.
See this is why it is so difficult to deal with moral retards like this.
Maulana Fazalur Rahman, a leader in the Islamic coalition, said "We will render every sacrifice for the protection of the Shariah (traditional Islamic) laws," he said at a news conference.
If this is Shariah law then at least this part isn’t worth saving. In fact, it also tosses the rest of it under suspicion as far as I am concerned.
God is not a moral retard.
But how would they know? Man is incapable of perceiving the world outside of himself, so if you are morally dense, like obviously these people are, at least to you, God would be every bit as clueless as you are.
If you are incapable of looking up, how could you have an accurate concept of what is going on above your head?
You might have an imagination, but would the imagination of a person blind from birth be enough to bring them even remotely close to how the rest of us that can see perceive things?
If you are a moral retard, you also have no modus operandi to accurately grasp what morality is about. It is the curse of incompetence. Those who are incompetent don’t have a clue that they are incompetent.
