Gay GOP consultant weds his boyfriend

Typical.
The New York Times reported that a prominent Republican consultant Arthur J. Finkelstein who’s job it is to figure out new and fascinating ways to demonize liberals went and married his gay lover in Massachusetts so that his husband can quality for benefits available to married heterosexual couples.
A law that people he helped get elected are against.
This is the same Republican spin doctor Arthur J. Finkelstein who started www.stophernow.com to derail Hilary Clinton's Senate reelection bid.
Hilary Clinton supports the law that he took advantage of to marry his long time lover.
This is either a very sad case of self-hate or it is a shameless example of the hypocrisy that we all have grown to know and love about the Grand Ole Party.
And people ask me why I am not a conservative.
Normally I just give them the standard, “Tell me what role conservatives played in the getting the U.S. government to acknowledge that blacks had constitutional rights? Then tell me what role conservatives played in giving women the right to vote and own property. Then while you are at it, tell me what role conservatives played in teaching science verses theology in science class. From where I stand it looks like conservatives are constantly playing catch up. Well, why would I side with the people that are always coming around and jumping on board the bandwagon as opposed to the guy actually doing the driving?
But why do I have to go through all of that when I have examples like this.
So Arthur J. Finkelstein sits there and fights along side Republicans who are opposed to gay marriages and then goes and gets married himself so that his lover can benefit from health benefits available to married heterosexual couples.
Can you think of a better example of conservative self-centeredness?
I am sure you can think of a thousand similar examples but what could be better than this?
They jump on Bill Clinton for having an affair on his wife and Newt Gingrich and Bob Livingston who were leading the charge against Clinton all lost their jobs out of the shame of being guilty of cheating on their wives as well.
People who live in glass houses shouldn't toss stones.
You’ve got Rush Limbaugh going off on Daryl Strawberry for being a drug addict while he is addicted to pain killers. Sure he responded with the standard conservative tag “I accept full responsibility for my addiction, its nobody’s fault but mine, I am not a victim” speech but who gives a shit if you accept responsibility for being an addict when you aren’t man enough to accept responsibility for being a friggin’ hypocrite?
Why don’t you beat the monkey off your own back before you start feeding mine bananas?
Personally, I wouldn’t have said a damn thing about Strawberry if I was battling with my own addictions, I wouldn’t point the finger at anyone for cheating on their wife if I knew I was doing the same thing to my marriage and I sure as hell wouldn’t be helping someone get elected to office if I knew he was trying to stop some law that I was planning on taking advantage of?
If there was a politician that wanted to reinstate slavery how would I look trying to lobby for his campaign?
Nkrumah, why did you work so hard to get this obvious racist, pro-slavery candidate elected to office?
”Well I agreed with his stance on abortion.”
Since everything it seems conservatives stand for is at the bottom line, shamelessly self-serving, it seems just fitting that a prominent Republican consultant would pull something like this.
And before you go off on, “well liberals are self-serving too, one need not look any further than millionaires in the Democratic Party who are millionaires 100 times over that are fighting for increased unemployment benefits, better health care coverage for poor and middle-class Americans as well as more funding for public education. All three of those things these millionaires know absolutely nothing about from personal experience. They don't know anything about standing in a line waiting to collect on unemployment of disability benefits, sub par health care coverage and public education.
Republican millionaires 100 times over, who are fairly confident that they won’t ever need a particular social program come out against or at least limiting funding to these types of programs.
Just like Clarence Thomas who used affirmative action programs to get where he is today suddenly comes out against Affirmative Action once he actually gets on the Supreme Court.
Like I said before, typical.
