Doctor prescribes Jesus not medication to cure depression
This is what happens when you get religion mixed up with science.
A Jesus freak general practitioner looked at one of his patients who came to him complaining of depression and anxiety and what he got was “It looks like Satan has got his hooks into you” and gave him a book on religion. The doctor didn’t examine him or even prescribe medication. He just gave him the one that everyone needs, Jesus.
When he tried to complain to the medical clinic the nurse he spoke with told him that she had personally seen people cured by “accepting God into their lives and offered no apology.”
However, they did refund the cost of the consultation.
The patient then went to another general practitioner who saw him who referred him to a psychiatrist and prescribed him antidepressants.
The Health and Disability Commissioner at the clinic where this patient had originally went to said that the general practitioner who offered Jesus instead of medication had done nothing wrong. In fact, he said that if the patient wasn’t so depressed he never would have been so upset about being preached to.
Ahhhhh…so you admit that he was depressed. And that is the cure at this clinic, huh? Jesus?
The Commissioner said that the doctor didn’t breach any service code of consumers’ rights. The doctor only felt that it was appropriate in this particular case “to explore the spiritual side of the man’s health.”
I don’t know about you, but I don’t go to the doctor to get his opinion on whether or not I am praying enough.
You see when you pray on something and it doesn’t work, they just tell you that it is your fault, you didn’t have enough faith.
When you pray and it does work then they feel like they can prescribe prayer to everyone like praying over your problems is foolproof.
See that is my problem with faith it’s never God’s fault. It’s always your fault. When God comes through for you, you are ready to suck his dick. When he ignores you and you die anyway then you must not have been trying hard enough, or it was just your turn to go anyhow.
Well I wish someone would tell me that before I turned down the chemo in favor of just sitting around begging God to spare my life.
If it was a foregone conclusion that I was going to die regardless if I took the medication or doubled up on the prayer because he was “calling me back home” he could have spared me the suffering and just had me get hit by a bus.
Man Suing After Hospital Mistakenly Removes His Testicles Doctors for better or worse hold all of the power. If they tell you have yellow fever all you do is put your face in your hands and ask him how much time you have. You have no clue if that is a disease or a new shade of crayon.
