Never tell a Jew that he doesn't know his anti-Semitism.
For weeks they have been warning us that Mel Gibson 's film "Passion" was going to stir up anti-Semitic anger towards Jews.
I took the position of course, that it will, but because I understand that Jesus freaks aren't at all too bright.
Until they saw "Passion" they had no idea who had Jesus killed.
Well just to be fair about it, they still don't know "who" had Jesus killed. "Who" in regards to whom in particular.
And I guess if you are a Jesus freak, in the absence of knowing whose shoulders should bear the weight of responsibility of railroading Jesus , why not blame every Jew alive then as well as every Jew that has ever lived since?
And I am willing to bet that they still don't know that Jesus was a Jew himself.
Well the Lovingway United Pentecostal Church has erected two billboards at churches in Mississippi and Colorado which proclaim "Jews Killed The Lord Jesus. Settled!"
The signs came out on Ash Wednesday which is the day Mel Gibson 's "Passion" premiered.
Well actually the "settled" part was added later after the Anti-defamation league contacted the Church and asked them to change the sign.
They just added "settled" to be smart asses.
Pastor Maurice Gordon of Lovingway has refused a request by the Colorado Council of Churches to change the billboard. A local news station reports he will not even answer the door or phone calls.
Settled?
They act like Mel Gibson 's movie is a scholarly look at the historical Jesus and what we know of how he died from historical record.
Nope.
This is his interpretation of what happened.
No where in the Bible or any secular record does it say that Jesus had his arm pulled out of its socket or he was beaten by Roman soldiers for 39 straight minutes.
This is called taking creative liberties.
Sadly for Jesus freaks they can't tell the difference.
jesus freaks go to war over gay hate statue Jesus' brand of "its ok to work on Saturday" Judaism caught on with poor, disenfranchised Jews that didn't need any more guilt trips for having to work on Sunday to make ends meet.
