Republican Recipient of Minority Only Scholarship Is apparently against Minority Only Scholarships
Do you have to be a hypocrite to be a Republican?
The world had no clue that Rush Limbaugh was a drug addict, what possessed him to go after Daryl Strawberry the way he did for being a drug addict?
Had he never said anything about Strawberry no one could have called him a hypocrite.
I mean how do you sleep at night knowing that all day you went on about how Strawberry is "weak" for not being able to kick his drug habit all the while you spend entire afternoons and evenings on the telephone with your housekeeper trying to score painkillers?
And it isn't like Rush came out that he was a drug addict willingly.
Like all hypocrites he only came out once he was outed.
Then in typical Republican fashion he goes on the radio about how he isn't a "victim" and he is going to stand up and face this ugly problem he has...personal responsibility.blah blah blah.pull myself up by my bootstraps.blah blah blah.
You know and I know and more importantly he should know that if no one had ever outed him, his personal responsibility, pull himself up by his bootstrap ass would still be taking enough Vicodin every night to put a horse to sleep.
Well Jason Mattera, the twenty year old Puerto Rican president of the Roger Williams University 's College Republicans has something to say about affirmative action.
You'd think he would be against affirmative action on the principle of unequalled treatment. I could see how someone could say that they don't buy the argument that affirmative action is a program created to counter act years of unequalled treatment by trying to create opportunities for historically excluded groups with the idea that it will eventually create an equal playing field.
It's like if you came home one evening to find that your kitchen was flooded with 2 feet of water.
After looking around the kitchen you discover the culprit is a busted pipe underneath the sink.
Common sense tells you that now you have two problems to address.
On the one hand you have the busted pipe but then on the other hand you have the 2 feet of standing water in your kitchen.
You're not going solve your problem just by turning off the water.
That's a start, but that isn't going to do anything about the second problem you have which is the standing water in your kitchen.
You can say that you have stopped excluding certain groups that have been historically locked out from attending public universities but that isn't going to address decades upon decades on inequity in wealth, education and opportunities that those decades of exclusion produced.
Like I said, the College Republicans at Roger Williams University could have gone after affirmative action on the principle of inequity, predictably ignoring all of the other issues attached to it, primarily why it was created in the first place.
However they didn't even do that.
Jason Mattera created a new $250 scholarship that is only open to white students.
"Evidence of bleaching will disqualify applicants," says the application, issued by the university's College Republicans.
But Jason is himself on a 5,000 scholarship that is open only to a minority group.namely his.
So if he hates minority or ethnically specific scholarships so much, then why the fuck is he going to school on one?
How are you going to make a stance against drug abuse while you are busy trafficking them into the country, or advocate against porn while you are starring, producing and directing in dozens of films a year?
I mean seriously, do Republicans even think before they take a stance on shit or is it just instinctual?
You will never hear me bashing porn because I like porn.
That's how the rules go.
A hypocrite is one who privately partakes in what one publicly regards with utter contempt.
However it seems for a republican, being a hypocrite is akin sowing your wild oats.
At least getting caught is.
Let me clarify, being a hypocrite is how you get in the door, being caught is pop your cherry.
Man Files Bogus Tax Returns To Get Reparations For Slavery What did he do with his reparations? Did he help build a community center for the other less fortunate descendents of enslaved Africans or did he go out and buy a new home in the suburbs and a flat screen plasma television so he could watch Roots on DVD in surround sound with his white wife.
