| Is The Black Dahlia Case Solved? |
In 1947, Elizabeth Short, an aspiring actress was found
in a vacant lot in Los Angeles, clinically bisected, drained of blood
and arranged in a naked pose that resembled a famous Man Ray photograph
called "the Minotaur". She was nicked named Black
Dahlia because of her jet-black hair and the fact that she
always wore black clothing. Despite a horrified and outraged Los Angeles,
the murder went unsolved, until now.
Well a former LAPD homicide detective Steve Hodel has just written a book and claims to have solved the mystery. The killer, according to Hodel is non-other than his own father!
According to his book, his father Dr. George Hodel was a wealthy LA doctor and sadistic sick son-of-a-bitch in the tradition of Jack the Ripper that was guilty of a lot of things, including having incestuous relations with his own children but according to Hodel, the reason he was able to avoid capture was because he also ran a venereal disease clinic at one time and thus knew the dirt on many of the police officers within the LAPD police department.
Steve Hodel suggests that his father effectively blackmailed his police connections to evade capture before eventually fleeing the country altogether.
Yeah, his father was a catch for any woman. He was a sadistic misogynist
who made his own daughter perform sexually on him as well as in orgies
that would host at the house.
In 1949, he was charged and prosecuted for incest and oral copulation
with his then 14-year-old daughter. Shortly after his acquittal, he
left the country for the south pacific.
That is what really tips the scale against this guy if you ask me.
Look at where he went when things started to get hot for him. He went
to the Philippines where he settled for the next 40 years.
If I were a detective I would start making some calls to see how many
bodies started turning up mutilated in the Philippines over the past
40 years or so.
I
swear if the south pacific isn't the number one destination spot for
sexual sadists and pedophiles then where is it? Anyone that goes to
the Philippines, Taiwan, and Singapore and spends the next 40 years
of his life after being a suspect here in the states for sexual crimes
is as guilty as Judas in my book.
To add to the mounds of circumstantial evidence against his father, apparently his father had personal photographs of Short in his private photo album, not to mention, a series of sadistic murders that had been taking place in LA at that time totally ceased when he left LA. Having the kind of murders that you are suspected of committing just stop, as suddenly as they began, after you die or leave town doesn't fair well in your favor either. According to Hodel, his father also killed another woman, Jeanne French, whose body was found a month after Short's, also in a vacant lot, with the letters BD scrawled on her in lipstick. That murder also was never solved.
Apparently, his father was a suspect during the investigation of the Black Dahlia case back in the late 1940's when these murders took place but police never seemed to be able to gather enough evidence against him to charge him. Either they couldn't find enough evidence to bring him to trial or they couldn't find where Dr. Hodel kept his records from the venereal disease clinic, you decide. |
