Once again I have a story which takes us back to Phnom
Penh, Cambodia, the land that released a bunch of cannibals because
they realized that they didn't have any laws on the books that outlawed
eating other human beings.
Now they are releasing a Buddhist cult leader named Dem Mam who encouraged
three monks to burn themselves to death in bath tubs filled with gasoline
because Cambodia doesn't have any laws against encouraging people
to kill themselves.
"I have been a prosecutor for years and I found no laws to charge
the man," Bou Pin told Reuters. "Those monks did it by themselves."
I am convinced. They don't have laws against shit in Cambodia. They
probably don't even have law school. They have a 1 hour "law
orientation". I bet you every law they have you could
write down on the back of a God damn napkin.
Police found two nuns and a monk dead in a blazing tub of gasoline
and three others just laying around trying to stab themselves to death
at the centuries-old Wat Thmar Sar pagoda, renowned for its strict
meditation techniques.
The cult members left detailed notes explaining that their ritual
suicides were the only way Dem Mam said they could get into heaven.
They pleaded for people to be understanding of their choice.
When police asked Dem Mam why the fuck wasn't he burning himself up
alive or trying to stab himself to death he calmly replied, he didn't
have to. "I am already holy enough."
Ain't that a bitch?
