A former Infoseek Corp. executive Patrick Naughton who was recently responsible for overseeing child-friendly content and safety on GO.com is on trial in an FBI underage Internet sex sting.  He is blaming long work hours, pressure and promotions for a decade-long fascination with explicit sex chat rooms.  Speaking frankly on the rooms he has frequented, including ones in which people conversed about forcible sex, dominance and bestiality, Patrick Naughton said in court that it was his "fantasy" way of coping with a frustrating high-power position, in which he sometimes worked 90-hour weeks. He would chat online infrequently, often using e-mail to keep up with siblings.  As time passed, and Naughton received more money, promotions and responsibilities at Infoseek -- owned by Walt Disney Co. -- it became his escape.

"I'm just a software engineer, and they put a suit on me," he said under questioning by his attorney, Donald Marks. You’re also a sick fuck Mr. Naughton isn’t that also true?  He was caught after having a sporadic seven month Internet conversation with an undercover FBI agent, a MAN by the way who was masquerading as a 13-year-old girl in a chat room called “Dad and Daughter Sex.”  Side Note: By the way it is the official position here at the zoo that if you are a guy impersonating a woman online… that is a also crime. Now back to the story. He said he was in the sex chat room because he had followed someone else in and became intrigued. But this one included dominance, bestiality and outrageous sexual fantasies, which prompted him to poke "my head in to view the scene."  Yeah, that is what they all say.

Wait a minute people it gets much worse. Naughton admitted his conversations with the "girl" identified to him as "Chris L.A.," but he claimed sex was only fantasy. Then they busted him out when it came out that he flew to California and met a woman who was playing like a little girl, but was really Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff. She showed up to the hotel with her hair swept back in pigtails (Give me a break he fell for that? That was always the first sign that it was a set up whenever I went to meet underage girls online).  -I am only kidding.

Naughton testified he wanted their relationship to continue only as all role-playing, with no expectation that anything sexual would happen. What kind of role play did he want. Her to play a child and him to play a nasty 34 year old pervert? "It's fairly typical for people in that channel to represent themselves as young girls; most likely they're not telling the truth," he said.

EBM: Ok Mr. Naughton, that is all fine and good but once you meet the child and she really is 13…then what would you do?

Naughton: Well then I'd fuck her.

The prosecution rested this morning after FBI agent Stephen Swanson of the computer analysis response team discussed pornographic images that were found on Naughton's hard drive.

Federal agents arrested Naughton, who pleaded not guilty to interstate travel with the intent of having sex with a minor, use of a facility of interstate commerce (the Internet) to try to induce a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity, and possession of child pornography.

Since his arrest, Naughton has been fired and stripped of his $1.2 million in stock options, with a vested value of more than $15 million. Naughton faces up to 35 years in federal prison if convicted.
