I don’t understand how people hear about things like what happened in Pittsburgh today and say “see, that is why we need more guns, to protect ourselves from crazy fucks like that!”
I don’t get it.
I don’t get it.
We saw how much damage he did with a gun, I wonder how much damage would he had done with a few rubber bands and a mouth full of harsh language? How is society going to be “safer” with more guns? The reason we don’t feel safe is because of guns. Before you say, no we don’t feel safe because of people not because of guns, I will say, you’re right, I don’t feel safe because your violent ass has access to guns.
Let’s think of all the things that we have that people can’t do responsibly yet we think putting MORE guns at peoples disposal, arming ourselves to the teeth will make it all better. People can’t be trusted to use birth control properly. One needs only to look at the type of warnings we have to plaster all over our products as “disclaimers” to see how fucking stupid and irresponsible people are in general. People don’t have the basic self-control to not gamble their life savings away trying not to land on 7 at the craps table. Las Vegas supports the highest suicide rate in the world, are you surprised?
People can’t even be trusted to not drink and drive, take baths without radios balancing on the edge of the tubs, they have to wear bright orange glow-in-the-dark suits in broad fucking daylight while hunting so they don’t blow each others heads off! Some farmers have been known to paint the word “COW” on the side of their cows so hunters won’t mistake them for Deer during hunting season. That is the kind of mentality we are dealing with. With that kind of decision-making you trust them with guns?
Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura says that gun control advocates are naive because people will always have a violent, aggressive barbaric side to them. So fucking what Jesse. People also think professional wrestling is real. People can be as barbaric and violent as they want with spoons and butter knives and used paper towel rolls. If I give you that much, that people are violent and aggressive and barbaric, if I give that to you, why in the world would I want those kinds of people armed? If this violent nature is so intrinsic in man then that is even more reason that we shouldn’t be giving guns away to people easier than they can get driver licenses. I hate when opponents of stiffer gun control laws say that people don’t follow the laws now, why would we think stiffer gun control laws would deter anyone. Then they try to use the argument that the death penalty doesn’t deter people from committing murder, (even though, most people that are against gun control are pro-capital punishment) as a reason against stiffer gun control laws. Well the actual fact of the matter is, how can we be sure how many laws actually deter people from committing crime, because if it does deter them, they refrained from doing the crime so how can we gather statistics on it? When the murder rate doesn’t go down, for instance, in states that have the death penalty, or goes up, all we can conclude is that, hotheaded dumb asses that don’t think about the consequences of their actions still don’t, even when the death penalty is in enforced. How many people actually thought twice about murdering someone and didn’t kill anyone because they didn’t want to get fried we will never know.
Personally, I am more afraid of guns in the common hand than in the hands of the military. At least they are trained to use them. Plus, if you want to keep guns to protect yourself from the government and their swarm of black helicopters, I am pretty sure they test their tanks and helicopters against tougher weapons than your .22. |
