This is the reason the stupid zoo was created. A scientific journal once published its findings that those whom are truly incompetent have no idea that they are such. Well 8BM.com would like to welcome you to a recent example of unapologetic incompetence Anthony and Christopher Griffith, the infamous Griffith Brothers.
These two budding entrepreneurs decided that they would make a one-hour promotional infomercial to lure young 14-16 year olds that they solicited outside of two Bronx high schools into the wonderful, fulfilling life of prostitution. Running this tape, mostly dedicated to showing the gritty life of being a pimp, and promising the $400 -$500 bucks a night the girls would earn working as hookers for them, they believed they would charm the girls into selling their bodies for cash. When the FBI found the tape, they also found it charming enough to help put them away for 10 years a piece.
$500 a night is $3,500 a week. How many hookers have you seen that look like they are bringing in that kind of money walking the streets? "I can take care of you," Christopher Griffith, 21, promises one young girl as his brother Anthony filmed. "I'm talking about money. I'm not talking about Burger King money, you understand?" What does “I’m not talking about Burger Kind money mean? Oh buddy, we he starts bringing up Burger King he must be talking about big bucks. I must be out of it. I didn’t know that once you get out of Burger Kings orbit you are living the high life!
"You got to get with me," Christopher says, smiling. "I'll furnish that shit. Like Home Depot." There is another classic Griffith brother lure. I guess Home Depot is another standard of excellent in quality home furnishing. What is he going to say next I ask myself, “Get with me girl, and I swear I will have you off public transportation in a 1984 Chevrolet Chevette by next week!”
They lured the teens with promises of big money — $400 to $500 nightly — that never materialized. At one point, Christopher praises a girl who is no longer seeing her boyfriend, Tyrone. Instead, she is working the street. "You learned the value of money in 24 hours," he says. "I notice how you chose money over love and s--t. That's good. Tyrone can't give you that kind of money."
They film the women having sex with them and with other men and women in a beat-up hotel room. At one point, Christopher blearily stumbles down a hall, complaining, "This is what you do. Hotel to hotel."
"I'm a good girl," says one teenager as she breaks into tears, moments before she is sent back onto the street.
At one point, Christopher stands in a hotel room, meticulously ironing a shirt, and complains to the camera, "That's the bad side of being a pimp — everybody hates you."
Yesterday, after a two-week case brought by prosecutors Ronnie Abrams and Aitan Goelman, the jury took less than four hours to convict the Griffith brothers. Both face a mandatory minimum of 10 years in jail |
