Reuters is reporting that in a village in the Papua New Guinea a woman who was accused of being a witch was killed by fellow villagers who when they came to fuck her up, brought axes, knives and even shotguns. Now I am not about mob justice but this is the first time I can recall in recent memory that a mob actually went after a witch prepared. Most of the time people use sticks and rocks. Fuck that, if you are going to go after a witch or any person who has the power to make shit that shouldn't be happening happen, then you need to approach this situation like you mean business.
Using weaponry from at the very least the 19^th century is just basic combat equipment when fighting servants of Satan.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Whoever’s idea it was to bring the shotguns is the guy I want to hunt witches with.

Chimbu province police commander Superintendent Simon Kauba said that the attack was ``gruesome and barbaric.'' The murdered woman, who was accused of causing the death of a boy, was hacked to pieces and her remains thrown into a river.

Why do they always cut the witches up or pile them up and burn their bodies and then toss the scraps in a body of water? Is there some significance to this or is that something you think of doing at the heat of the moment? I think I am going to rule out the suggestion that they are doing this to “cover up” the evidence that a gang of 40 people with torches, armed and shouting at the top of their lungs paraded into someone’s house and killed them. Lynchings are generally not a crime of discretion.

Apparently lynchings are common in the Papua New Guinea highlands and are often linked to allegations of sorcery, belief in which remains widespread.
