| The Old Spineless Democratic Party is Back in Full Bloom |
The Senate's top Democrat, Majority Leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota, told his fellow Democratic colleagues, "I believe it is important for America to speak with one voice."
I am so tired of hearing that cliché "we all need to speak with one voice".
If the president is doing something that you think is wrong then why in the fuck should you just go along with it? To show solidarity?
Why would you want to show solidarity behind something that you think is wrong?
Do you think Moses would back some legislation that made it harder to get your hands on an assault rifle because he wanted to show solidarity?
And if Daschle didn't think what Dubya is trying to do is wrong then why did he give him so much shit about this whole Iraq thing in the first place?
Oh wait I forgot, it's an election year. My bad. The American people are supposed to have short memories.
Good thing I remembered. I was just about to ask how sympathetic do you think we are to Germans who said "hey Hitler was our leader, although we thought what he was doing was wrong we figured the time had come that we had to speak with one voice."
Not much.
None at all actually.
What a spineless fuck Daschle is. How the fuck did he get chosen to be the Democratic Majority leader anyway? He is a Democrat elected Senator from a redneck state.
Not quite what I would call the most stable political base for a progressive.
I was going to say that this was the classic Democratic Party rolling over and playing dead but what's the point?
Yeah, I used Hitler and Bush's name in the same sentence. I can't help it if the analogies just seem to fit.
Where is Clinton when you need him? He had the same thing about him that makes conservatives attractive to people, he had the confidence that comes with believing in your convictions.
If it is true that we teach people how to treat us then Democrats have taught the Republican Party that they are the party of old again. Those pussies will fold anytime a Republican accuses them of being "non-American" for not supporting Caesar.
Daschle demanded an apology from Dubya for telling a group of Republicans at a fund raiser that "the Democratic party was not interested in protecting the American people."
Did he get it? Fuck no.
This is the Democratic party that I fucking hate to the bottom of my soul.
Where is Clinton when you need him?
I heard The Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity on "The View" saying that the criticism of Bush by both former President Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore was deplorable because "we are at times of war."
Please.
We are not at war. We are in what Dubya has coined his "war on terror", similar to the all too familiar "war on drugs" and his wife's war on illiteracy.
Give me a fucking break.
And so the fuck what if we were at war? Since when is the president above criticism?
We all know how these kinda "wars" play out. You pay it a lot of lip service, toss a lot of money at it, you have no chance of winning it, it goes on and on for decades, and right around re-election you catch a token drug lord or the guy in al-Qaeda that took care of the courier pigeons. That is about as close as we have gotten to getting our hands on someone that was actually responsible for 9-11. Parading this guy on television is supposed to serve as proof that you are making some headway in the whole mess?
If you actually listen to these conservatives they are trying to plant this idea into your head that they are not right or left, they are not moderate either, they are just "plain common sense".
I guess it is just plain old fashion common sense that you don't criticize that power hungry twit; just like in 2004 it will be common sense to vote him back in office and common sense to vote GOP straight down the ticket.
It basically boils down to this. Republicans act like they expect to be elected into office while Democrats act like they are asking you to do them a favor and put them in office.
