Maybe there is a little India in all of us. Either that or we really need to tighten up on some of this immigration. The day I find a bag full of skulls at the bus stop or my dog comes home with a leg bone that he found in the backyard I am voting Pat Buchanan in 2004.
Parents of 28 year old Ray Brent Marsh, the Crematory operator at the Tri-State Crematory in Noble, Georgia are cooperating with the local authorities with their effort to recover all of the corpses that they are finding dumped all around their Tri-State Crematory. They have already found at the time of this article 277 bodies and that count is expected to rise. They are finding bodies in pits, sheds, metal vaults, and even in the lake that they are debating on whether or not they should drain just to see how many bodies are in there. "There's just no way to even guess at a cost (which has been estimated at close to 10 Million dollars) until we stop finding bodies. And we're finding them everywhere," said Gary McConnell, director of the Georgia Emergency Management Agency.
They are saying that Ray Marsh would just toss the dead bodies in the backyard and then put a mixture of cement dirt and dust in the urns for the families because "the incinerator didn't work". It didn't work for 15 years? Investigators have subpoenaed natural gas records and planned to inspect the incinerator to determine the last time it had been used but now they are saying that bodies may have been being dumped in the backyard for twenty years or so which would've put this kid at like 8 when it started. It looks like now that authorities are saying that this had been going on for about nine years before Ray took over the business.
If that is true let's see if the parents cooperation with this investigation starts to get a little less enthusiastic.
In fact in 1992 Georgia Representative Mike Snow introduced a bill to require all crematories to be licensed. However Ray Marsh (the dad) argued that he wanted his business and his property to be exempt from inspection because he argued that his business didn't deal with the public per se, just the funeral homes. Apparently, that makes a world of difference if you are in the crematory business.
So here is the big question, why the fuck wouldn't the Marsh family just fucking fix the god damn machine? They had money to hire lawyers to lobby state representatives to get their asses out of being inspected but were too fucking lazy or cheap to flip the few hundred bucks to fix the damn crematory. That is the insanity of laziness. I am sure more work had to be involved in hauling those corpses down into the woods behind the house and tossing them than it would've been to pick up the god damn phone and get someone out to come fucking fix the oven.
Apparently, if the damn thing was working it would have cost them about 25 bucks to incinerate a corpse. They were being paid anywhere between 200 to 1,500 bucks a corpse. Now Ray Brent Marsh is facing 16 counts of theft by deception and looking at 15 years in prison for each count. And the sad part is that apparently he never wanted to run the business he wanted to go to law school after he got his degree.
Personally I don't blame the people that got cheated for not looking inside the urn to see if it really is grandma inside. To me it's like, don't bother looking under the hood at the dealership if you don't have a clue what you are looking at. How the hell am I supposed to know what grandma's ashes are supposed to look like? What am I going to compare them to? I take it that they will look gray and dusty just like anyone else's ashes. This is just one of those things that you just take their word for it. Besides, what if I get too close to the urn and breath some of that shit in? I don't want to be coughing and gagging on grandma. Crematory operator Ray Brent Marsh remained jailed and under 24 hour suicide watch for allegedly accepting payment for cremations he did not intend to perform.
