Jewish School Says It Was A Privilege to burn the new testament
In a text book example of the incredible tolerance and acceptance that organized religion brings to the world a Jewish school in Beit Shemesh, Israel, burned a copy of the new testament that was written in Hebrew given to an 11-year-old by Christian missionaries.

The administrators from the school issued a public apology after students quoted their teacher that supervised the book burning as saying, "God sent it and He gave us the privilege to be able to burn the New Testament."

Before the class burned the book, the teacher consulted the school's principle, Rabbi Yair Bachar before returning to the class room with his approval and making the statement to the children about having the privilege by God to burn the New Testament.

According to the Rabbi it is appropriate to burn the New Testament in private because they consider missionary texts "books of incitement and brainwashing", regardless if the word God is in it (the text) or not.
In a very politically correct statement issued by the school they stated that "we are not against Christians or Christianity but against Christian attempts to convert Jews."

You know where I stand on this. I am the guy that was in support of the Taliban fucking up those Christian missionaries they caught trying to convert Muslims in Afghanistan.
If I could support that, then you know I am in support of these Jews burning these Christian Missionary texts. And it isn't because I am anti-Christianity.
You show me a bible-belt snake dancing Christian that wants someone hanging out in the playground around their kid's school handing their kids pamphlets about 17,836 Hindu Gods.

In my opinion, any argument in support of replacing someone's myths and values with your own is completely without merit. Now if they come to you, seeking more information about what your belief system is all about, well, that is another thing altogether. However you coming to them trying to spread your "good word", that is just fucked up.

Although it wasn't popular to say at the time, and I am sure it is even less so now, I believe the Taliban was right in arresting those Christian missionaries and even I dare say, executing them if that was Taliban law. When you are in someone else's country you are bound by their laws. Part of my understanding of freedom is that you have the right to chose your leaders and the laws that govern conduct within your society. You may be American wherever you go, but you are not in America wherever you go. If you don't agree with their laws then don't go there. I don't care if the Taliban was oppressive towards women, forbid the playing of music, television, running water, soap or a decent haircut. If you want to address those issues, that is a separate thing altogether in my opinion. You can remove the fundamentalist from power without undermining the religion. Are you going to get rid of the David Koresh's of the world by removing Christianity?
When you undermine the values of a society, whatever values those might be, you are eroding the very foundation their world-view stands on. Far too often missionaries are the first wave in any cultural assault on a people. Just look at what Christianity did to Africa. I don't believe any society can afford to show missionaries any more tolerance than they would any other threat to their way of life. Now being a civilized person I am not advocating using violence against a missionary, but I wouldn't show their religion any more respect than they are showing mine by trying to convert me over to their collection of myths.
By the way on a side note, Arafat's wife is Catholic…no wonder he can't win with these people.

save your "it's my ancestral homeland" shit for someone that cares. Since I can't find any Canaanites to weigh in on that claim of ancestral homeland how about I use an example a little more relevant
