Two Jewish Defense League leaders arrested in alleged bomb plot
People it is time to clean house.
It is obvious to me that the philosophical idea behind this social experiment that we call The United States of America is a little too complex for some of us to internalize. A lot of you can point us out on a map, but you really don't understand what it means to be an American. And I am not going to point the finger at you middle-eastern fundamentalist because we have a long ugly history of our own racist fundamentalist groups that have yet to grasp the concept as well.
So its not just you.
Some will argue that it can only be through toleration that America can truly reach its full potential. However, I am not so sure that is the only way we can achieve our full potential. How about we come to a common definition on what it means to be an American, we commit as a society to that definition and then we collectively get so intolerant towards anyone or anything that tries to undermine that shared identity that we make Joseph Stalin look like Mahatma Gandhi.
Today two leaders of the Jewish Defense League were taken into federal custody for plotting to bomb Arab-American institutions in the Los Angeles area, including a prominent mosque, as well as the assassination of a Arab-American elected official.
Now the word I want you to focus on in that sentence is American as in Arab-American.
No society can exist without a shared identity. America is no different.
You want to call yourself a Mexican-American, African-American, Italian-American a German-American on your paperwork, I am cool with that. As long you understand that once you tag American to the end of where ever you left to start a better life here in the states, you understand that the tie that binds is now a philosophical one.
If you can't handle that, then you don't need to be here.
Who am I to say who should and shouldn't be allowed to live here? Well I am glad you asked. I have no authority to force people out of the country, but you see in America I don't have to be anybody to state my opinion on anything I God damn please.
How's that for your first lesson on what it means to be an American?
You see apparently some of you fundamentalist need to take the time to understand what being American means. Considering you want to call yourself one when it is convenient. Being an American means that you do not share a common religion, ethnicity, language, political ideology, or monarch. When you say you are an American you are saying that you bonded by the shared commitment to liberal principles of freedom and equality. The sense of solidarity and commonality you share is rooted in the right to the individuals right to the pursuit of happiness and equality in opportunity.
If you cannot grasp that idea then get the fuck out.
No exceptions.
Once again, you ask me who am I to say who gets to stay and who gets to go? I thought we'd already been over this?
If we went to war tomorrow with Israel, I've got a sneaking suspicion that we can't count on the Jewish Defense League to support that decision.
Are you starting to get my drift? Some of you have your priorities a little fucked. I am not saying you support your country right or wrong. Of course you don't support it when it is wrong. That is why we have established legitimate avenues to show your disapproval of our government and none is more powerful that the right to assemble and the right to pull that lever in those archaic voting machines in your high school auditorium. We voluntarily change governments every 48 months.
The Jewish Defense League is a militant Los Angeles-based group that advocates use of "all necessary means -- even strength, force and violence" to defend the interests of Jews as well as the return of all Jews to Israel, according to its Web site. Ok, that is fine and dandy but what the fuck does that have to do with blowing up Arab-American property in Los Angeles and assassinating a United States government elected official?
So if I am understanding this correctly these are Jewish-Americans, plotting terrorist attacks on their fellow Americans over some bullshit political conflict over a dust bowl we gave you Goddamn way? And save your "it's my ancestral homeland" shit for someone that cares. Since I can't find any Canaanites to weigh in on that claim of “ancestral homeland” how about I use an example a little more relevant.
That house you live in, and the backyard that your kid's unsightly Little Tikes Pirate Ship is on used to be belong to Tanto and Pissing Wolf. They are the two that live on that reservation up north and run the casino with Shittin' Bear. You see that is just the way it goes sometimes.
I have no tolerance whatsoever for some Nigerian-American doing a drive-by on a Kenyan-American here in the states over some tribal conflict over the rights to a waterhole and thirty thirsty goats. I really don't care how far the shit dates back. If I so much as have a piece of drywall hit my shoe from some explosion that you plant over some conflict that is going on 3,000 miles away we need to put the people responsible in one of John Ashcroft's "top secret military tribunal your pretty much fucked" circus trials and then put you under the prison. Then again, since the trials are secret anyway, let's not and just say we did.
