Man carries out promise to cut off tongue for goddess
There must be something in the water in India.
Seriously.
A farmer in India named Shambhu Nath (sounds like I found where George Lucas gets all the names for his Star Wars Franchise) sliced off his tongue to keep a promise to a Hindu goddess. Apparently he told everyone he knew what he was going to do but no one took him seriously.
God dammit isn't this India we are talking about?
"We thought he was merely boasting and told him so. Obviously we had underestimated his reverence for the goddess," said Badri Parshad a local shop owner.
Apparently so.
What I want to know is what the fuck did Navratri the Hindu goddess do for him that he felt had was obligated to cut his shit off for? And my second question, if I could be so bold as to ask a second question would be, what the fuck would a God want with your fucking tongue anyway?
Locals had gathered to celebrate Navratri, a nine-day Hindu festival that symbolizes the victory of good over evil.
The Hindu's have a God for everything else, how about a God for Psychiatric Medicine?
