RAW DOGMA                                                                           written by Nkrumah Steward

"I Told you that this fucking crop duster couldn't take all this shit!"
Is it just me or do single engine crop dusters seem to crash and burn a hell of a lot more often than American Airlines? And for the record, I understand that when we are talking about the loss of Aaliyah, or any pop artists for that matter, people get really sensitive.

So let me cut you off by saying that I am aware that we are talking about a human life but if what they are saying is true, that they have on video tape the pilot of the charter plane and Aaliyah's video crew getting into a heated argument before takeoff over the weight of all the shit that they wanted to load on the plane, if the investigation finds that extra weight played any role in this accident then they all have lou.

Tragedies come in all shapes, sizes, and flavors. There is nothing more bitter than a preventable one. I hear about this story and I immediately ask myself what does having money do to you?

You would think that when the pilot tells you that you have too much shit to get the plane safely off the ground, you would listen to him over the guy in charge of lugging the God damn drum machine around.

Apparently the pilot argued the plane was dangerously overloaded, but eventually gave in and took off anyway.

How he lost that argument I will never know.

Whatever happened to "you don't tell me how to do my job and I won't tell you how to do your job"? And if that still doesn't calm the irate video producer you can always use the classic rhetorical question, "Hey, do you see these nuts?" - said while maintaining direct eye contact with the tantrum throwing video producer while pointing directly at one's private area.

They say that there may also have been a problem involving engine failure, which I don't doubt it may have been, especially if the plane was overloaded with a bunch of shit that the pilot told them to leave behind.

ABC aviation expert John Nance says that it isn't uncommon for wealthy, high profile passengers to bully pilots into doing what they want.
"
So many musicians have died in small aircraft," said Nance. "You would think that anybody in show business would be three times more sensitive."
No shit.
