Man dies after corn stalk pierces artery…Karma is suspected.
Today in rural Garden City a man died in what is being called a "freak accident" by those who don't know any better.
69-year-old Eugene Kamas was picking sweet corn when he tripped and broke a stalk of corn. He got up and tripped a second time and pierced his carotid artery in his neck.
Blue Earth County sheriff's deputies arrived within minutes but Kamas was dead at the scene.
If you are one of those people that don't believe in coincidences then you have no choice but to respect Karma. I don't know if it is more accurate to think of Karma as one of God's lieutenants, or just one of Gods mood swings. All I know is that when God said, "vengeance is mine," if he was implying that he already had dispatched Karma on the job, then I understand completely.
Karma always gets his man. Karma doesn't have a public relations firm trying to put a spin on things to line him up for future endorsements deals.
Karma doesn't give interviews so he is never misquoted.
Karma doesn't care if you like him or not. He is the classic type A personality. He has a job to do. He can't see beyond that. His kids haven't seen him in weeks. His wife has given up on their marriage and went and bought a cat to keep her company.
He doesn't care if you and I are old, young, man, woman or cripple, rich or poor. Hell, Karma doesn't even care if you are still in the same life that you were in when you committed said transgression.
Karma doesn't give a fuck if you are sorry. Karma never asks "what do you have to say for yourself?"
Karma doesn't give a damn if you say that you have learned your lesson. If you are truly sorry and have sincerely learned your lesson then as far as Karma is concerned you will understand why he is kicking your ass.
All Karma cares about is that you get what you have coming.
I guess the only solace we can take is in knowing that you only get what you give.
So in that sense we do have some control over the how many cans of whupass he leaves on our doorsteps.
Now go out and say something nice to a complete stranger today. Oh yeah, and call your mother.
